First in its class of carrier-grade storage blades, the EA8R provides sophisticated Adtron™ SmartStorage™ architecture and incorporates Adtron ActiveRAID™ in a standard Advanced Telecommunications Computing Architecture (AdvancedTCA®) form factor.
Equipped with dual GigE backplane connections, the EA8R provides redundant in-chassis operations. With Adtron ActiveRAID technology, the RAID5 function is managed and maintained with no host or external controller intervention, bringing the best field service qualities of RAID5.
Offering enterprise-class drives, the EA8R is equipped for the most robust configuration. Each drive is individually removable and replaceable without interrupting platform operations.
Equipped with two GigE channels on the backplane, the EA8R integrates directly into a dual star topology. Using iSCSI over Ethernet provides state-of-the-art storage functionality through AdvancedTCA base connection. Intelligent Peripheral Management Interface (IPMI) compatibility provides health information about the EA8R to the shelf management controller.
